Case law explained

How published decisions shape the law

Court rulings clarify how a statute applies and sometimes resolve real ambiguity. We explain each published decision in plain language, so you can follow what happened, which rule applies, and why the court decided as it did.

How we read a decision

Facts, rule, reasoning

Every analysis separates three layers. First come the established facts, as the court recorded them. Next are the legal texts the court relied on, with links to the official sources. Last is the court's reasoning, explained as it is written, without speculation about what the court did not say.

This structure helps readers see where a decision stops and our explanation begins. It also makes it easier to check each point against the original text.
