An independent guide to French law

Juriscope explains French law, court decisions and administrative procedures in plain language. We are not an official body, a court or a law firm.

Editorial charter

How we verify and present legal information

Each article starts from the facts, then identifies the legal rule that applies, and only then offers analysis. The three stages are kept visibly distinct so readers can follow the reasoning.

Sources and verification

We rely on official journals, published court decisions and primary legal texts. Each applicable text is linked so that readers can check the wording directly on the official source.

Separating facts, rules and analysis

Facts describe what is reported in the decision or procedure. The rule of law states what the text provides. Analysis explains how the two relate, and is identified as our interpretation.
